ANNOUNCEMENT OF NEW FUND

CIMB ISLAMIC GLOBAL EMERGING MARKETS FUND (iGEM)

We are pleased to announce to you our new Islamic fund, CIMB Islamic Global Emerging Markets Fund (iGEM), which will be launched on 2^nd July 2008. The Initial Offer Period (IOP) for this fund is from 2^nd July 2008 to 22^nd July 20 08. Thus, the commencement date for iGEM falls on 23^rd July 2008.

The Fund aims to provide investors with medium to long term capital appreciation through investments in the global emerging markets that conform to Shariah principles. The benchmark for the Fund is Dow Jones Islamic Market Emerging Markets Index.

The Fund seeks to achieve its objective by investing principally in Shariah compliant equity securities of companies domiciled or with their core business in the world’s emerging markets, which the fund manager believes are undervalued and have the potential for significant growth.

Up to 98% of the Fund’s NAV will be invested in global emerging market securities that conform to Shariah principles and at least 2% of the Fund’s NAV will be invested in Shariah-compliant liquid assets for liquidity purposes.
